Are you a Cincinnati native?

I am originally from New Jersey but moved out to Greater Cincinnati in 2014 after graduate school. Been here ever since! I didn't anticipate staying past two years, but here we are!

What’s your favorite part about Cincinnati?

I love that it is a mid-size city. I grew up around Philadelphia and New York and was super overwhelmed. Cincinnati is the perfect size for me, has plenty to offer, and feels like a close-knit community. It's been great to grow into the bookish community here, too!

Favorite spots in Cincinnati?

Coffeeshops, in general, are my favorite spots including Wyoming Community Coffee, Hyde Perk, and Coffee Emporium. Eden Park and Ault Park are just beautiful, as well as the Banks. Whenever I have days off, I usually find myself in these spots.

Favorite neighborhood?

Oakley and Hyde Park! I love the restaurants and MadTree, plus I go on runs through there and enjoy seeing the beautiful homes and apartments.

How do you spend your time (your work, your passions, your ways of working through the pandemic)?

I just started a new job as a marketing manager in the book industry, which is basically a dream job! It's fully remote so I can still reside in Cincinnati which is perfect. Outside of work, I am pretty active in the sand volleyball scene in the area playing 2-3 nights a week. I'm also training for a few races, the Flying Pig included!

What are you currently reading (this can be anything, not just a book)?

I'm currently trying to finish up Written In My Own Heart's Blood by Diana Gabaldon. It's the eighth book in the "Outlander" series with the ninth coming out in November, so I'm almost all caught up. I just picked up The Night Watchman from the library since it won the Pulitzer Prize!

What drew you to UCBC?

UCBC is such a unique way to share books that I was immediately intrigued. Whether a reader was intentionally looking at the coordinates or someone stumbled over the books, it is a fun activity that gets people talking. I used to go geocaching so UCBC brings back so many great memories of hunting for hidden 'treasures'!
