Interview with Rebekah Frumkin
What are 5 things you would want to find?
An action figure of Dustin Hoffman as Louis Dega in the 1973 Papillon
The chair my mom used to rock me to sleep in
More time to write
A gentle dog who likes to cuddle
That episode of Arthur where he dreams that he’s visited by all the food he’s ever eaten in the form of a giant
What are 5 things you would want to hide?
My fear of elevators (it’s gotten better over time)
The fact that I went to high school in a town called Libertyville
My medication
My passport
My habit of picking at hangnails
If you could choose anywhere in the world for your book to be hidden, where would it be?
Berlin. Maybe I’d get a German translation if the right person found it.
If you could find any book, which would it be and why?
I would love to find a well-loved copy of Ulysses tucked away somewhere in Chicago. It would be nice to know that people in my hometown are still chipping away at the story of Stephen, Bloom, and Molly.
Who would you want to find your book (another author, celebrity, et cetera)?
I think that if Lizzo found The Comedown, she’d really enjoy reading it.
